A Hot Bath

 These poor trees were doing just fine, then the thermal feature at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone shifted and bathed them in hot water. The algae and steam make this an otherworldly look.

Nap Time

 This buffalo was just standing there when something diverted my attention for a moment. When I turned back it was laying down. It looked so peaceful, I wanted to go over and pet it but I decided that using a 170-500mm lens got me close enough.

Mammoth Marshmallows

 The steps at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park look like giant marshmallows in the background of this dead tree.

Old Tractors

 I am a fan of anything Ford, be it an old car, truck, trimotor airplane, or a tractor, I like them all. Please note the VW pickup in the background.

Broken Stucco

 This detail of a building corner with a tile roof is part of a very old delipidated filling station in Old Town Twin Falls, ID. I was quite fascinated by the style and architecture of the building along with the many old Volkswagens and Ford tractors sitting around it.

Utah's Wild Horses

We went on a camping trip on the West Desert of Utah to see the wild horses. We are required to stay 100 feet away from them so I used a 500 mm lens to take the pictures. At one point on our trip we were standing on the road when they decided to cross quite close to us. I turned to a 120 mm lens to continue getting photos of them. I also cropped the images to get larger views of them. Enjoy

Rock Outcropping

We took a trip to Twin Falls Idaho to see some of our grandchildren as an excuse so I could take photos of Shoshone Falls, J/K. But I did take three trips to the falls to get photos of it. This one was taken in near total darkness on May 4th at 9:00 PM. It really was dark so it is a long exposure with open aperture, high ISO, and EV as high as it would go. I really like the way it makes the water so milky. Enjoy
