Glow Above Walker Center

I was in the downtown area of SLC on Friday evening on a photo shoot at a fund raiser when I looked up and saw this beautiful view. I had to shoot above a tent and it was hand held because I didn't have my tripod with me, but it came out pretty cool.

Soft Landing

This crane was just landing after being chased by another crane. It was fun to watch them as they flew back and forth jockeying for position or dominance near the waterfall. It's coloration was almost identical to the rocks that it was standing on. Very interesting, and I shot several photos of them.

Hoping for Work

These figures are depicted as waiting in line for job applications. The taller one is actually a near perfect depiction of my dad, Ralph Sheneman. I was stunned when I saw it first about two years ago and was anxious to get back to the FDR Memorial so I could get this picture.

Washington's Dining Room

This is a view of the fireplace in the dining room at Mt Vernon, VA. It has been nicely restored and was a demonstration of the wealth of George Washington. This was in the servants quarters, I was not allowed to take photos in the main house.

Grist Mill

This is a view of the gears that run the flour mill that is a reproduction of the mill that George Washington owned and operated in Mt Vernon. He switched from raising tobacco to wheat when the British set the price for tobacco and would not let him sell to anyone else. The gears are made from rock maple and lubricated with animal fat.

Air Force Memorial

Sitting alongside the 395 Beltway in Washington, DC. It represents three jets as they break formation. The Washington Memorial stands in the background.
