A Frosty Snowman

This wonderful shot of a frosty cold snowman would look great on a Christmas card or framed to be hung in a prominent location in your home during the winter season.

Arizona Memorial

I shot this photo as the ferry pulled away from the dock that is along side the memorial. We were not allowed to shoot from the dock so I shot from the boat and removed the dock in Photoshop.

The Blue Barn

When we were at a show in Eden, UT there was this wonderful old barn right next to the parking area that we set up our display in. I got just a bit of time between customers so I shot this photo. Unfortunately (actually fortunately) I didn't set the white balance and ended up with a dark blue tint to all of my photos. After tonemapping I just turned it into B&W on a whim and it came out great.

Tree of Life

This is one of my favorite HDR photos of the Salt Lake City Temple. Go to the Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi, chapter 8 and read Lehi's account of a dream he had about a tree of life then return and study this photo. It is all there, the river of water, rod of iron, strait and narrow path, tree of life and finally God's love for his children represented by His greatest gift to His children-the temple.

Tabernacle and Temple

This is the daytime version of the following HDR photo. The sidewalk gives a nice pathway to the viewer that brings your eye to the temple.

Tabernacle and Temple Night

The lights that are aimed at the Angel Moroni that stands atop the temple bath it in a wonderful golden glow. This lights of the tabernacle also offer a nice invitation to the viewer that all are welcome here.

SLC Temple in the Clouds

This rendition of the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints appears to be floating in the clouds with a fading vignette applied to this HDR capture.

SLC Temple B&W

After shooting this HDR and tonemapping it I was quite unhappy with the results. I took it into B&W and bumped up the red and intensity and clarity and it came out quite nice. I enjoy the way it towers above its setting.

SL Temple Aglow

As I look at this scene I get the feeling that there may be some kind of a heavenly meeting happening just beyond those trees, I can see the Celestial Light glowing on the temple.

Mother and Son

This rather tender moment between a mother and son in front of the Salt Lake City Temple depicts the kind of relationships that are fostered by the Church through the Holy Temples that are scattered across the world.

Conference Center Christus

I really like the way the wood work in the background frame this small replica of the Christus. It is a 5 shot HDR.

Conference Center 1

Most people wonder which temple this is and seem surprised to find out it is the Conference Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I took this HDR across the reflecting pool in front of the SLC Temple. The senior missionaries serving there really like this photo.

Tumbling Panorama

I was trying an experiment with my camera when I shot this panorama. Since it worked so well I am anxious to try it on a cityscape at night sometime.

Dock-n-Boat

We delivered this little boat to it's new owner while visiting our son in NC. It was a nice trip up the Intra-Coastal Waterway to do so. I got to steer it most of the way while being coached by my son. A good memory.

At the end of the dock

I walked to the center of this dock to get a nice view of the boat that was moored at the end and try to sneak up on some water foul. I got the nice view but the birds took off.

1000 ft Dock

This dock was on a property that our son rented while living in Wilmington, NC. I shot this early in the morning just as the sun was coming up. It is a 5 shot HDR.

Great Wall Under the Lights

This is the Great Wall in Zions National Park. While there on a photo expedition with 2 of my close friends we were light painting at about midnight. On our way back to camp we came across this scene where the construction crews had some incredible lights lighting up their work zone. They also lit up the whole mountain side. As I was shooting the mountain a pickup turned around in a parking area and shone it's lights on the foreground. This became a once in a lifetime opportunity.

58 Chevy Custom

Here was the companion to the Chopped 58 Chevy, it has triple 59 Caddy taillights along with lots of other really cool modifications. The orange color stopped me in my tracks just because my 27 T is also orange. I really like the way HDR treats bright colors like this.

A-Bone Hemi Highboy

I really enjoyed this little A-bone (Model A Ford) powered by a Chrysler Hemi. I hand held the 5 shots required for the HDR merge and they actually came out very nice.

119 with Wagon Wheel

This is one of those times when HDR is just not going to work, (the train was moving), but demonstrates that my camera actually works very well in a single shot. This is Engine No. 119 and she was being moved along the rails in a demonstration of how they run and look while underway.

No 60's Controls and Nose to Nose

These two photos show details of the two witness trains in Promontory,UT at the Golden Spike location. Both are 5 shot HDR's and show the incredible colors of these two beauties.

No 60 and No 119

These are replicas of the trains that were present at the time the golden spike was driven to connect the railroad through from the East to the West. They are on display in Promontory, UT. both were captured in 5 shot HDR's.

Sitting on the Dock of a Bay

While at Disney World in Florida I came across this very peaceful scene and grabbed a 5 shot HDR of it. I only kept this one shot and really like it.

Moose

While hiking in Albion Basin at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon I came across this moose. He was feeding on the foliage and for the most part ignoring me. After several minutes he looked up at me as to say "I have had enough of you" so I took off. Still a great shot.

Chopped 58

A 1958 Chevy with a chopped top and 54 Chevy tail lights was at a car show that I attended. I really like the extreme appearance of this extreme custom.

Steaming Pool

This blue pool is in Yellowstone National Park, WY. I shot this with a 5 shot HDR then processed in grunge mode.

32 Flatty

This wonderful 32 Deuce highboy with a flathead was captured in a 5 shot HDR and processed in grunge.

Reflective Pool

This beautiful scene was captured in Yellowstone National Park, WY. It is a 5 shot HDR.

Buffalo

This huge buffalo came running across the road in front of our car and then calmly laid down in the grass. He kept a pretty wary eye on me as I was very close to him, but what a great shot.

The Scroll

It appears that the sky is beginning to unroll as a giant scroll, as is prophesied to happen when the Savior returns to the earth to reign as it's king.

The Golden Door

There seems to be an open invitation to come inside, "come inside and be safe", that is extended by the golden hue of the door on the Draper, UT temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Draper from Round-a-bout

The temple in Draper, UT seems to float above the ground in this HDR photo taken late at night.

Blue Skies at Sunset

The temple in Draper, UT is almost lit from within in this sunset shot captured in HDR.

Against the Storm

The dark clouds in this photo of the Draper, UT temple give a feeling that the whole world can be dark and stormy but the temple stands true and strong against it.

Springtime in Bountiful

Spring time brings late snows and this year (2011) it came on Memorial Day.

Spring Morning

On Memorial Day 2011 it snowed in Bountiful, UT and left this scene for me to capture. At first I wasn't too sure that I wouldn't just come back another day to get the photo, but after processing it I really like the soft feel it gives it.

Bountiful Moroni

The Angel Moroni sits atop almost all the temples built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This one is on the Bountiful, UT temple and can be viewed from this angle as you approach the front entry.
