This is looking north east on the island of Maui. We took a car trip around the northern end of the island. Judi really liked this view so I grabbed my camera and brought back a memory for her. (I enjoyed it also). LYLE
Most of the time I just don't see things the same way others do. I think that is why I like HDR photography so much. LYLE

Rocky Splash
I was restless one morning mostly because I hadn't adjusted to the time change from Salt Lake to Maui so I got up about 4:30 in the morning and grabbed my camera and went for a walk along the beach. I set the camera for a 5 sec shutter and rear curtain sync with the flash. then I had to time it just right to get the wave coming in and hitting the rocks just when the flash fired. I just love photography. LYLE
Sunset at Monkey Pod tree
I loved the way these trees lean out over the ocean just begging to be photographed at sunset. I had to oblige. This one and the next post are in the same basic location. LYLE
Sunset at Lahaina
The sunsets were so gorgeous on Maui. I saw these trees the first day I was there and knew where I wanted to be if we got some pretty sunsets. Then I saw these same trees photographed at sunset in a photo gallery and knew I just had to get there. A couple days later the clouds and timing were both just right and I had my camera with me. Judi and Connie had to wait a bit for Richard and I to get what we wanted but here it is. LYLE
Dutchman's Arch
This arch is what we were looking for when we went to the San Rafael Swell. It took us a bit of looking and even almost gave up on it but finally found the road we were looking for. Did I say "road?" It was a trail beaten into the soft sand of the area, in some areas it was so deep and tight that I couldn't even open the doors on my truck, we just had to keep going. That just added to the sense of adventure for the whole week we were there. I even ripped a mirror off of the side of my truck at one point after hitting a tree with it. LYLE
The Prospector
This prospector stopped to ask for directions but being a stranger to those parts I was unable to help him, I hope he found what he was looking for. LYLE
Sunset on the Swell
Evening came way to soon, but we were camped in a good location just a bit to the left of this location. I was standing at the edge of a 300' cliff facing a lovely valley with snow caps on the other side. I am looking south west with the setting sun lighting up the beautiful clouds. This is on the San Rafael Swell in central Utah about 100 miles west of Grand Junction. LYLE
