This is a photo of a bridge rail, a beautiful red leaf had fallen on the bridge so I placed it on the railing. The beaver dam in the background also helps to give the photo interest along with the water of the stream.
Most of the time I just don't see things the same way others do. I think that is why I like HDR photography so much. LYLE

Weeds and Wicker
The weeds in this shot were picked along the bank of the Jordan River that flows through Salt Lake City, UT and is an indication of the colors we get here in the winter time. While out on the river bank it is not especially attractive, when arranged in a "bouquet" and placed in front of a dark brown wall they become quite nice. One has to be careful though, the big seed pods have thorns all up and down their stems and can really be a pain, literally.
Blossoms as Art
It has been a long drab winter and for a landscape photographer it has not been a particularly pretty one. So I set up a photo studio in my home and started shooting whatever I could find. My wife has this very nice glass vase with some artificial flowers in it. I also used a new (to me) function in Photoshop the achieve this effect. I used Find Edges and then set it to Luminosity, then bumped up Selected Colors and Levels. Fun effect.
Wetlands Walkway
This is a detail shot of the pier that extends into the wetland area of Liberty Lake, WA. I really enjoyed the colors of the pier with the grasses and decking in the background.
Painted Grass and Ice
While visiting the Spokane, WA area I went to Liberty Lake where one of my sons lives. The inlet to the lake is a wonderful wetland area and is a state park. There are grasses, wildlife, and birds everywhere. It is a photographers wonderland.
