Duo Falls

This nice little cascade is located near the main intersection of the road leading to the lodge in Zion National Park, UT. The simplicity of the water flow coupled with the colorful tumbled rock make this a very easy photo to enjoy.

Black Branch and Sandstone

A simple composition featuring a tree branch in profile before a red sandstone formation makes a very striking photo. This really stood out to me as I was hiking around Balanced Rock in Arches National Monument.

Delicate Arch in B&W

Delicate Arch is the undisputed leader of photo icons for Utah, it appears on many of our license plates and most brochures or web site for Utah. Due to the flat light when I was there I really didn't like the colored version of this photo, after turning it to B&W it really popped.

Extruded Green Tree

Sometimes I just like to have fun with a photo. I really liked the composition of the original photo on this tree, but it lacked interest and purpose until I noticed a filter called Extrude. After applying it I decided that it really made the shot.

Painted Refelection

I added an oil paint filter to this otherwise plain photo to give it a very unusual appearance. It became quite colorful in the process.

Mesa Arch

This is a view through Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Monument near Moab, UT. I arrived there at about 8:30 am just as the sun was lighting up the red sandstone wall below the arch, the wonderful glow on the arch is a result of this along with its eastward facing direction.

Boiling Sandstone

This is a view of Bryce Canyon from the rim. I loved the colors and bizarre shapes that are everywhere in this National Park. I could spend hours just looking and wondering about in this amazing place.
